Artist's Thoughts on Without Armour:

Without Armour is about letting down your shield and accepting what life brings, both the good and the bad. Is there a feeling of emptiness that cracks inside? A sense of being a hollow shell, gazing longingly toward the sky? Or maybe it’s the spark of readiness and grounding—or simply standing tall and solid, no matter what life throws your way.

Life has its ups and downs. To appreciate the highs, you must understand the lows. Everything is a balance, a concept that's been on people's minds across cultures and centuries, from ancient times to today. But what does it truly mean to be strong? And what about vulnerability? Isn’t it more terrifying to be vulnerable than to shut down completely? Sometimes, to move forward, you need to lower your armour and face things head-on. Other times, you need to stand tall, close your eyes, and be solid. Either way, you’ll get through it.

Creation Method and Techniques:

This artwork is carefully crafted from scratch, using acrylic paint and drawing, combined with texture, photographs, and graphic shapes in an inspiring blend. Alan employs various techniques, from brushwork to cutouts, with each layer contributing to the piece’s depth, detail, and richness. Printed on Fine Art Freja paper (265 g), the colours are beautifully emphasised. Each limited-edition print is signed by Alan Pedersen and marked "LE50" next to the signature, indicating that only 50 prints of each edition are produced.
